Australia is one of the sunniest countries on the planet, making it ideal for putting the sun to work, particularly during peak times. Solar panels captures the sun’s energy and converts it to power for your home or business in a quiet and efficient manner.

Solar does not create electricity all of the time, but it does so when it is most required – throughout the day and during sunny periods when power demand (driven by air conditioners) is highest.

Another advantage of small-scale solar is that it produces electricity when it is needed (i.e. where people live and work). This eliminates the need for costly electrical infrastructure to transport energy over large distances.

LOOKING TO INSTALL SOLAR?

The Clean Energy Council operates a variety of programmes to ensure that we continue to work with the industry to increase the standard of solar installations in Australia and offer consumers confidence that they are working with reputable solar installers and merchants.

CUSTOMER FAQ

Most frequent customer questions and our answers

This depends on how many units you are currently using on a daily basis as well as what Western Power or Horizon Power approves for your home or business. You can find out how many units you use through looking at your electricity bill or by calling us. We will happily assist you in finding a system that suits your needs.

Most people are eligible for the government rebate in WA. If your energy supplier is Synergy, you are eligible for the government rebate. If your energy supplier is Horizon, get in touch with us to find a solution for you.

The orientation of the panels is important as the panels will perform at their best if they are facing north as well as being tilted at an optimal angle towards the sun. North facing is the most recommended orientation as the sun rises in the east and sets in the west. This ensures the most amount of sun to be harvested throughout the day.

There are a few different brands that meet the Clean Energy Council’s standards for installations in Australia. Depending on which company you choose to get your system with, this will vary in terms of the brand and the warranty.

Professional maintenance can be done as well as maintaining the system by yourself. If you get a system installed by one of our partners, they will provide you with more information depending on what system you choose.

Solar water Heater

A stand-alone solar hot water system or a heat pump that heats water using energy from the ambient air are both examples of solar water heating.

Solar hot water systems help users save money and energy while also lowering carbon emissions. The procurement of solar hot water systems also benefits Australian manufacturing companies and jobs.

Large scale solar generator

As one of the world’s sunniest countries, Australia is well positioned to make large-scale solar power a significant part of its energy mix. The same technology as rooftop solar panels is used in large-scale solar: specifically made semiconductor crystals convert sunlight into power.

Large-scale solar is already one of the most appealing options for new production, with prices falling considerably (from $135/MWh in 2015 to between $44.50 and $61.50 per MWh in 2020*).
